Epigenetic alterations, including DNA methylation, histone covalent modifications and super-enhancer regulation of dysregulated transcriptional networks have attracted a significant amount of attention for the prevention and treatment of different genetic disorders with cancer at the forefront, mainly due to the inherent reversibility of epigenetic states.
As a part of my postdoctoral training at the Purdue University and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), I developed my understanding of epigenetic regulation of gene dysfunctions in cancer. I study epigenetic abnormalities on Next Generation sequencing platforms (RRBS, 850K-array, TAB, ChIP, RNA-seq. etc.) and use TALE or CRISPR based synthetic proteins for targeted perturbations of the epigenomic lesions
